Besides to possibility of of mistaking the rim letters for the wrong ones...

Can one chamfer down a 9x19 round into a 9x17 round? or are they different diameters? :uhoh:

Reason being I have a lot of 9mm brass that I dont reload for it, .380 on the other hand...

Suggestion:

Why not sell 9mm brass and buy .380 brass?

Simplicity.

I also dont see someone paying for anything more than shipping for fired 9mm brass.

Not only is 9mm brass larger at the base but it's also thicker by a substantal margin. Could it be done SHURE but who want's to slave over a lathe for an hour just to produce 10 .380 cases:banghead: It would be easier and cheaper to sell your .380 and buy a 9mm handgun.

noresttill,

I don't know where you live but I used Craigslist.org to sell used brass. The buyer was local and picked it up.

How much .380 brass are you looking for? I've got maybe 500 or 600 rounds of once fired. Let me know if you're interested.

1) Per SAAMI
The .380 case neck is from .3671" to .3731"
The .380 chamber neck is from .3773 to .3813"
The .380 case base is from .3679 to .3739"
The .380 chamber base is from .3809 to .3849"
The 9x19 case neck is from .3741 to .3811"
The 9x19 chamber neck is from .3820 to .3870"
The 9x19 case base is from .3840 to .3910
The 9x19 chamber base is from .3913" to .3983"

2) Per reality:
The 380 dies and brass are about .374 at the base.
The 9x19 dies and brass are about .384 at the base.

3) The joke
If you pound some 9mm brass in a .380 die, I would like to see how far you can get it to go in.
