I hunted all weekend and saw tons and tons of deer i just cant get a shot. All said and done ive seen probably 50 does and 6 bucks. The bucks are always spooked and running before i ever see them or way way to far out. OR....you have a perfect shot but are pinned down and cant move because you are under the scrutinization of 3 does and the second you move a muscle they snort and its done for, Rant over thank you for reading.

At least you're getting out there!
I'll bet that a nice one walks in front of you any day now. Hang in there.

That's why they call it hunting.
Good luck!

Two years ago opening day I got out at daylight, maybe 7:15. At 8:00 the wind kicked up and I was getting cold so I went back to the truck. A few minutes later a mid-sized buck was 60 yards in front of the truck and the season was over.
Boring.
Last year I had 5 bucks 75 yards or less. Two were 20 or less. Never shot one.
Last year was better.

Just got back from our permit hunt in 36B. Both me and my hunting pardner scored a Mullie.
His was a 4 X 1 and by that I mean it had 1 antler with 4 points and the left antler was broken off about 1.5" up and started growing down the side of his head. We are both meat hunters so he took the shot. Hit the deer in the spine at 140yds. The shot was with about 10 minutes left of legal shoot light so we spent the next hour + field dressing and dragging in the dark. No sooner did the guts get on the ground the coyotes started howling. We drug the deer up and down 2 ridges to a road and I walked 1.5 miles back to the truck. Finally got into camp about 2 hours after dark.
My buck was a bit easier to deal with. We drove up into a canyon and parked the truck. Didn't walk about 30 yards and 2 bucks jumped up 50yds from us. I shot the trailing buck right behind the ear since I couldnt see anything but the last 3" of his neck and head. He went down in a heap. Had 3 X 2 head gear and nothing to brag about but the meat is going to be good on the grill this eve.
Overall we seen 60 does, 8 Antelope, tons of dove, quail and 9 Bobwhites. I even stepped on a rattlesnake and didn't get bit. Scared the hell out of me and my hunting pardner. Also seen 12 illegals get caught, tons of Border Patrol guys and got pulled over and inspected by a Game Warden. The GW was a very cool guy and an ex Marine. We spent an hour bull****ting about hunting, illegals and the military.
As far as what I learned this weekend on my 1st Mullie hunt, its much harder than Whitetails. The does will wander and look at you like your stupid and the bucks will hawl arse at the first sign of danger. Wind direction, good glasses, rangefinder and a GPS is a must. Oh, also being in good shape is a must as well. After my pardner shot that deer, I thought we were both gonna have a coronary dragging that deer over them ridges.;)

17a....... my total deer count is now up to 62 and not a shot yet. Unfortunately i cant hunt again until the last day of season, but i got a trick or two up my sleeve. Ive watched deer run up on top of a certain thick cover hill 3 times now when the shooting starts. So i think ill just sit up there and get ready to see 35 more does and hopefully one buck needing a 270 slug in his lungs.

last day.....still nothing but i am more confident then ever before ive seen over 60 deer if i keep up with these numbers im bound to have one buck walk in front of me tommorrow....wish me luck please. The lack of bucks is really making me nervous and i think maybe if many people give me just a seconds thought maybe just maybe my luck will change.

Good luck to you. The bucks should be running in groups this time of year. The one I took was with another buck and they were in heavy cover. The does are all over the place and cover wasn't a big deal to them.

I hope you have better luck than I did. Today in 20a we saw 9 does and nothing with antlers. :(
If things go this way next year I might have to get some of these for my deer:D
