First and foremost is the kewl factor. Someone who is knowledgable in BP see's you load'n them at the range. He sez, "man them sure is good look'n bullits. Whar'd ya get 'em"
You puff yer chest out and smile as you say well they used to be old lead pipe, I melt 'em down into ingots then cast them one by one. Each are inspected and checked for defects then only the best are selected, the rest go back in the cast'n pot.
You have just moved up one rung on the grand scheme of things related to manlyness (unless you are a gurl. In that case, TWO rungs) (Three if you are really good at puff'n your chest out) But I digress.
what are real advantages? They do tend to expand more on impact with flesh. If you could tell me exactly what type of game, exactly where the shot will be placed and the angle of entry wound. I susptect we could discribe for you the exact projectile to achieve the quickest humane kill with least damage to useable meat. So once you have that 10 point buck in your sights, dial up your computer and let us know.... Or, Plant a round ball in the center of the chest then invite us over for venison chili.
Did I say, I cast my own as well. Another big reason to cast your own is a place to get away from other humans. While you are casting, you can state, git out you heathern kids. This is DANGEROUS stuff, wouldn't want you to get burned or worse, POISONED, NOW GIT.
Why do I cast my own. Cuz it's KEWL to say, I made 'em.
