I'm going to be getting one of these soon and know right now I'll want different grips.

What options are out there? I'm left handed so are my options limited?

being left handed should not be a problem unless you go for the thumb rest variety and this is usually offered . You might check with ruger since they do offer a nice set of wood grips in their catolog. I think they use cocobolo wood.Do a search at this forum and others for ruger grips. I have bought some nice sets off ebay. Most grip manufacturers offer a set, such firms as hogue, letts, pachmayr, and herritts to name a few. You can go more advanced with grips from fung and esmeralda.

Hogue makes grips for the lefthander that can be custom or not. Their regular lefthand grips cost less than the customs. Go to www.hogueinc.com or www.midwayusa.com. There is a vast array of grips to look at either place. www.cheaperthandirt.com has grips also. Hope you find what you want.

I just bought a set of rosewood grips for my MkII from www.kelleyarms.com

Their selection is extensive, and the price is right--about $25.

Good luck.

I disagree.... Ruger's got a set of the Thumbrest style for lefties as well. Not sure they fit the mkiii's. ii's they do.

Expensive, but worth the cost, would be a set of Nills. (http://www.nill-griffe.com/)

I checked their website, and they have no pics or info up. They mention them in their price-list (w/ no price given), but that's all. When did you order yours?

Any pics?

Hogue does make some downright handsome wood grips but being more than a bit money challenged I'm quite happy with their plain old rubber thumb rest grips.

A nice set of grips really transforms the humble MKII.
Lett's Grips (http://www.lettgrips.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=LG&Category_Code=MK2) is another place that sells them.
