Trigger Job Description

What are the steps of someone doing a trigger job?

Do gunsmiths weaken the factory springs or replace them with more looser ones? I'm curious because I am considering having my XD sent in to Scott Springer @ Springerprecision.com. I have never had any custom work or trigger jobs done on any of my firearms, I just always 'kept 'em factory with maybe the addition of a few easy "do it yourself" aftermarket parts.

-Thanks

Ed, give Teddy Jacobson a call www.actionsbyt.com. He sure is opinionated, but has the credentials to back it up. All he has done for years is action work. Although he is semi retired, he will give you some good information on what to look for.

I think each gunsmith may have their own way of doing a trigger job. Just call and ask whoever it is you want to do the work.

Decide what the gun will be used for ! Target shooting may warrent lighter springs but carry shouldn't have any work done that's not necessary.Carry guns must be FULLY reliable.
