Relatively new to shotguns, got a used win 1300. Plan on taking bird hunting, what might i want/need to get for it? Or is it just fine in stock factory form? thanks for any advice

Great shotgun. It was my first one and I still use it quite a bit for trap etc. You might want to get 1-2 additional chokes for varied applications.

If Migratory bird hunting, make sure the magazine plug is installed.

Screw in chokes and various ammo for tasks shot at a pattern board to determine which loads, with what choke for what ranges.

Other than tweaking the gun fit if need, you are good to go with a bone stock gun..

Nice guns these 1300's, they just want to be fed , shot, toted and cleaned up from time to time is all.

depending on personal preferance ( and what stock you have now)you may want to grab a slip on recoil pad. youl thank me if you find that you need it. and even if you dont need it, its good to have incase you wanna let soem one of a smaller frame or more sensative shoot the 1300

rammie; Going to guess you have a vent-rib barrel, if it has just one bead for a sight maybe you want to look into some fiber optic sight options. Although lots of bird / clay shooters like it just the way it is.
Like Dave said "Ammo"!
1300's take the winchoke thread. 500 chokes thread the same, tons of outfits make comparable selections. (fyi)
