I've been looking for a decent bolt action .22lr to add to my collection. I had it narrowed down to the Ruger 77/22 standard (love the styling and rotary mag) and the CZ 452 Varmint (love the reputation for accuracy).

Then at the first dealer, I found this little jewel on sale because of a slight scratch on the stock. I love the styling, fantastic fit and finish. I walked out with it for the same price as the CZ and cheaper than the Ruger!

I had no idea Anschutz made a sporting rifle! I know the name from the Olympics, but don't know much more.

Anyone else own an Anschutz? Any advise? Haven't shot it yet, but I hope to scope it, and shoot it this weekend.

Good deal. I have seen those priced around the $500 mark.

I have a Anshutz 64. I like it. No advise other than try out several types of ammo to find what it likes.

A very good purchase.

Anschütz makes quite a number of sporter rifles.

Quite a number of ring manufactures for 11mm, a popular one is BKL (http://www.bkltech.com/).

Got a few Anschützes.

My Savage-Anschutz MK12
Outshoots a few high end .22Ls that I have come across. With ones that shoot as sharp as these, ammo differences are more important.

I have a CZ 452 that I really love, but my Anschutz 22 hornet sporter has it beat by far as far as quality goes, that's not saying the CZ ain't classy, it's just not an Anschutz. Anschutz really knows how to put together a great rifle.

I have been shooting Anschutz competition rifles for over 40 yrs. They are well built, smooth and very accurate. Just take a look at the cover photo of the sporters with the 54 action that is used in their high dollar target guns, and the 64 action, which, while good, isn't in the same overbuilt class as the 54. The only problem is that the sporters now cost several times what I paid for my competition rifles. I can no longer afford it. I got the ZKM 452D as a suitable substitute.

They make many different rimfire models and from all I have heard they have a great reputation.
