Mr. Dixon was acquitted? Does that mean his case went to trial? That seems awfully quick. Is it possible that the DA dropped the charges? At any rate, I'm happy for Mr. Dixon. He should never have had to go through this nightmare for protecting his family.

So ... we have a grand jury in Ohio and another one in New York "no bill" an illegal weapon/carry charges.

Doesn't that nullify the laws ??????

Funny you mention an 'illegal weapon'. My discussion with my DA friend quickly turned from Dixon to the difference between an illegal weapon and an unregistered weapon. In his mind there was no difference. I disagreed.

Sorry, I meant a weapon not legally carried (as in not registered in NYC) or not legally carried (concealed, or into a place that serves liquor).

Sorry for the poor terminology.

I just meant that if grand juries (or any other jury) consistently refuse to bring charges on state/local weapons laws, then that should mean the law is null.

IMHO, the 2A makes them all null and void, but that is yet another issue....
