Majority of women Representatives voted for AWB in 1994 No surprise there. The AWB relies on people remaining ignorant of its contents, its definitions, and their meaning.
Assault weapons, as defined in the AWB, are a fabrication. No one has ever/will ever make a semi-auto assault rifle.
Of a random sampling of male and female candidates, the females will (on the whole) know the least about firearms in general, much less a fine point like FA/SF/SA.
The only way to cure this problem is for everyone to do their part to educate as many firearms novices as they can.
If you are reading this, and you can find the time, have the apptitude, etc. become an N.R.A. ceritfied instructor. If you are a parent, teach all of your kids about firearms.

In the end it will come down to whether women are more afraid of being attacked than they are of guns. If the ranks of gun-averse males keep swelling we may well see more militant females as they realize they are responsible for their own protection.

The answer to this is that we obviously need more female gun nuts. Do your part: Take a woman shooting today!

I think its also safe to say that the majority (perhaps all) of the black Congresscritters voted for the AWB. Both they and women are members of groups that are most in need of personal protection by firearms. Logic is very rarely an attribute of politicians.

It's time and long past time to pull the nation's hard-earned tax dollars from N.P.R.

How do we make it happen?
Even here in Australia, because of the heavy bias of the networks, we receive NPR programs.:barf:
Are there any serious questions being asked in the U.S. about the lack of balance on a publicly-funded network?
of course, the A.B.C. here makes NPR seem benevolent....:banghead:
