I have a 5" 5 screw M&P that has a problem, the cylinder will not open. I bought it used and I am pretty sure the cylinder opened when I purchased it. The cylinder latch will not move at all. Help, please.

10 to 1, a loose ejector rod has backed out.

Pull the hammer back just far enough that you can screw the rod back in by holding it still and turning the cylinder. Alternatively, try simply turning the extractor rod with your thumb.

Once you have it back in and the cylinder open, remove the rod, clean it free of oil, and use blue LockTite to lock it back in place.

As soon as I have time I will work on it. Tuner I keep meaning to visit but never have a free moment it was easier when you lived just up the road. You do still have all the friendly collies?

Oh and XavierBreath, just so you know yours is one of the very few Blogs I check at least once a day.

Sure do. Still got'em all, and even added a a few more. 12 dogs in all now...
Why do I have 12 dogs? Because I don't want 13!:D

Give it another week, Bill. Directions will be much easier when the bridge on Briggstown Road is open again.
