 I found that my P88 has a crack in the frame. On the left side just above the mag release button up to the slide lock lever.
Does this mean the frame is history? Or can it be repaired? I was wondering why the hammer was following the slide forward, now I know.
Thanks for the info, P5

How did the frame manage to get cracked? Isn't the P88 a modern day weapon?

Yes it is and I don't know. I've used Remington Golden Sabers 124 grain +P in it, but not many. I generally practice with S&B or WWB 115s and run a magazine of the 124s thru it about three times a year. Just guessing that I've run between 5 and 6 thousand rounds thru the pistol since I got it in the mid '90s.
This pistol was designed for NATO 124 grain and they should be the same or hotter than the Remingtons.
Thanks, P5
