i have recently aquired what i belive to be a m44.after doing research i found it to be hungarian with budapest arsenal stamp.all #'s that can be seen match.does have bayonet.year on barrel is 53 or 54.i forgot which but it is readable.it also does not have import markings.i am curious as to its value and if there is much of a market for it.

rem1187a,

Try visiting 7.62x54r.net's (http://www.7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinRarity.htm) webpage on rarity of different versions. Looks like the Hungarian versions of the M44 are fairly common. Also, try Gunboards.com's collector's forum, where a large group of serious Mosn collectors hang out.

My personal opinion is that it wouldn't be worth much more than a regular M44, depending on condition. If you have pictures of markings and such that would be helpful.

I would say between 100.00 and 200.00 depending on condition.
