The factory lubes EVERYTHING, it's not just in some areas.
To clean out the factory lube, field strip the gun per the owner's manual, removing the bolt and trigger group, disassembling the magazine tube, etc.
Use a brush, rod, solvent and patches to clean the bore AND the chamber.
Use a spray can of CLP Breakfree or Rem-Oil spray everything but the stock dripping wet with the CLP or Rem-Oil, and allow to "soak" for about 30 minutes.
Give the trigger group a good spray, then stand it up so the excess can drain out. After draining, shake and wipe any excess.
Wipe and shake off the excess from the rest of the gun, then reassemble.
Before firing, wipe any lube out of the bore and chamber.

The factory will lubricate EVERYTHING because it serves several purposes. The gun may still have some machining grindings.
The metal needs to be protected from rust during storage at the factory warehouse, during shipment, and at the distributer and the stocking dealer. Many people will not strip and relubricate before shooting it, which is probably a good idea in many cases. But over lubricating is a probably a bigger problem than underlubricating. The oil collects the burned and unburned powder, dust and dirt and can literally stop the function. Under lubrication will show up as a lousy trigger pull and possibly an unreliable action. Lubricate the contact points moderately but be careful about sprayng down everything.
Back in the days of real wood stocks, excess oil soaked into many a fine stock and discolored and softened it too.
I've purchased over 120 guns in 35 years, cleaned and lightly oiled almost every one of them. Only had trouble with ONE gun not functioning correctly.
