Pick up a Mojo sight. Replace your rear sight with it.
Buy a 5-round magazine for your MAK.
Buy some American SP ammo.

You haven't mentioned where you live, so we have no idea of the size deer you might encounter, the range at which they could be expected to be seen, or even if self-loading actions are legal.

Assuming you're going for white tail deer at ranges of 150 yards or less in a state other than PA (check your local hunting regs for compliance to all laws), with good ammo and practice, you should do fine.

The question is really not "how good a hunting rifle" would this make, but rather, how good a hunter are you? If your primary objective is just to hunt, you can pick up a NEF rifle in any of several decent calibers, an inexpensive scope, and rings for probably $250. You don't need to do this if you can use iron sights well, can take reasonable shots, and can hit what you aim at.

I live in New mexico and i am a pretty average hunter. I mean if i see and i get a shot off i alway's hit. I will mostly be hunting for muley deer, javelina(small hog's) Antelope,. The shot's are usually around 75-200 yard's. They are mostly down hill or stright shot's on flat land. Are there any type's of scope's i can get for the mak90. Thank's sorry i didn't clarify.
