But, I don't think it's all rosey. "JUAN" sure waited for a long time to bring his firearm to bear. I'm not into the monday morning qb scene, but I'd guess that I would have brought my gun to bear at the earliest chance. "Juan" seemed to wait till the bg was drawing down on him.

I don't like the message that you do everything you can to NOT shoot someone, and after a "lengthy" investigation you are not charged. Holy smokes!!! IMO, had he ever got the drop on him (I know, if , if , if) he should have plugged away. BG asked for it from the time he produced a gun.

Thus, "juan" said that the bg kept his auto trained on him most of the time. In my book, completely justified in drawing and shooting (or not drawing but shooting, gotta love big pockets) the first time bg looked away or pointed other places.

Seems like they are emphasizing the last ditch use of force. No one wants the wild west, but this seems to swing to the other extreme, IMO.

I noticed that the Kansas City Star didn't print anything about this. They were the main voice saying there would be shootouts in parking lots and resturants. This local newspaper only prints what it wants you to see.
