Hey guys i have a 10-12 page paper due in a week and i am writting it on the second amendment. I want to write a damn good paper my teacher seems like he's libertarian, however he is smart guys, and does see faults with the republican party and democrat partie so he is not close minded, thats why i would like to write a paper that when he is done reading he just might go get a gun himself, or aleast see the issue in new light.

So Far this is the format i plan on going with, first i want to talk about how the second amendmet is a crucial part of U.S history, and how different things would have been with out it. Second i want to site examples of countries that outlaw Civilian arms and the results like Germany and the Jews, Cuba after Fidel, and a few others (ps i was born in Cuba so i kinda hava that source cover but hey the more the better) . Last but deff not least i want to show that the second amendment still holds great value today, and that is is still relevant.

Now i was wondering if you guys had, or know of any good sources i could look to for research material. Like i said i would like this professor to see our hobies with new light, who knows he might be one of us already, either way i figure at worst he wont agree with me, and at best we'll have a new pro gunner in a position to help lead/shape young minds to our point of view. O did i mention this is for a National Goverment Class. Any help apreciated thanks in advance guys

Get an issue of Shotgun News and start at for sale section S3000. Look at then end of each section for the quotes and passages from history. The first I found was,---
"(T)o preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always posses arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them...."Richard Henry Lee, 1788. ---- There are many quotes from history in a Shotgun News when you now where to look. Henry, Franklin, Washington, just to name a few

If he is a Libertarian, he is probably already on your side. :D

But look up quotes that were made by the Founding Fathers. I wouldn't recommend using this book if you want to maintain a nutral but still progun position, but I just read Shooting Straight, and it has a lot of quotes in it from the Founding Fathers. I believe John Lott has a book, More Guns Less Crime, that would be less "biased" than something from the NRA lol....but it is still from a very pro gun author.
