I am looking to buy a new lightweight o/u 12 gauge. I will be using it primarily for upland game hunting, but also want to be able to use it for duck hunting. The price and weight of the new Franchis caught my eye. Given the aluminum receiver and its lightweight, has anyone had any problems with this gun? I don't expect to go through more than 200 or so rounds per year.

I think you will be fine. I use my Alcione Field model (last years model) and have no issues with shooting waterfowl with it. Like you I only shoot about 200-300 rounds a year through in for waterfowl. The rest of the time it's my SC and trap gun. Franchi makes a great product.
