i've decided in order to save time and ammo, I'd like to purchse a bore sight device, preferably a laser one. Anyone here have any experience with any one in particular? It'll be used for both rifles and handguns scoped and iron sights.

I got a cheap laser one but .. really wasn't impressed.... maybe you have to spend bigger Bucks for that.

I generally use the Simmons one .... got mine from Brownells way back but available cheaper elsewhere i believe. It's an optical one (fits in muzzle) and for me .... reliably gets me ''on the paper'' .... and not that hard to use at all. Covers all usual cal's.

Have you tried the "el cheapo" method of just looking down the bore and dialing the scope to where the bore is looking? I always do it this way and I'm rarely off the paper, even at at 100 yards. I usually try the first couple closer if I can. Just sandbag or have it on a good solid rest, center the bull of your target in the center of the bore and dial the cross hairs to it. I use a 90* bore mirror for guns I cant look directly down the bore. They cost about a buck at the gunshows. On my HK and AR with see through knock off mounts I just zero the scope using the iron sights. That works pretty good too.
