1100 furniture - 12 & 20 - butt stock the same?

As I am now questing for an 1100 in 20 ga., I am seeing more affordable synthetic models than anything else.
Question: Is the 12 & 20 ga. furniture interchangable? I enjoy refinishing stocks and I can get some rough ones for cheap and make them nice.
