I just bought a P3AT due to all the rave reviews of it. I was undecided on which to get first, the PT145 or the P3AT, but I just couldn't wait for the gun show this weekend:) I probably spent a couple more bucks on it than I would have at the show but that's OK. I found a newer dealer in town here who is pretty fair in all his prices so I'll help him out.
Man, is this firearm tiny almost like a toy gun I had when I was 7 or 8. I will make it to the range tomorrowand get the break in period over with.
I asked the gun shop owner if I should do the fluff and buff on it and he said it shouldn't matter a whole lot but I will probably do it late tonight.
I can already see putting an overgrip on it and putting the Kel-tec finger ext. on. Need to do something to the sights so I can at least see something that resembles sights.
Anyways, I am a very happy guy right now and will be even happier on Saturday after I pick up the PT145.

You may want to wait on the fluff & buff. My P3AT ran with nothing more than the standard new gun clean & lube. I clean it after each range trip (usually 50 to 100 rds.) and it's run great for the 500 or so rounds I put thru it before I deployed. I would recoomend taking a pen knife, fine grit sandpaper, or a nail file smooth off and rough edges left from the molding process. The backstrap, inside the trigger guard, and the area where the frontstrap and trigger guard meet are areas to look at closely. I also added a Hogue handall jr. later, and wish I'd done it earlier. They trim to fit pretty easily. I haven't added a finger extension, preference I guess. I think you'll really enjoy yours. Post a range report after you shoot it and let us know what you think.

"I probably spent a couple more bucks on it than I would have at the show"

Not if your shows are like the ones here. I can always find guns themselves no more expensive, and often cheaper from dealers, and accessories are always cheaper online, but at the show I can fondle them :p . Surplus ammo is cheaper, but since I don't shoot surplus...

We should all do more of that.

Enjoy the P3AT; I'm probably going to pick one up tomorrow!

I have a 1st gen P3AT, SN 11xx. and have over 2,000 rds thru it. I carry it in my pocket everyday, it has been a Great little gun.

You mentioned PT145, I picked up one last week at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds (Suncoast Gunshow) got it for $329 OTD.

Nice. I can't wait to get the 145.
This p3at is an incredible buy. I put 150 rounds through it yesterday without a problem. It shoots a little low and to the left but still respectable for what it is. I love how small this gun is. I have carried it everywhere.
