Steyr M series stock ?

I've ordered an M 9mm that should be here any day now. In searching around the internet for more information on this gun, I've come across the following very interesting photograph:

Would such a thing be legal/importable in the U.S.? I know that I've seen stocks fitted to new revolvers for sale, but I think they were been blackpowder, which I assume changes things legally.
I guess the above gadget makes the M9 a short barrel rifle? Is such a thing acquireable through NFA rigamarole? Not that it would be worth the hassle and cost...

Cortland, do not quote me on this, but I seem to recall being told that the stocks available for the glock pistols will also work with the steyr.
But like I said...dont quote me....I intend on testing one out at the next gun show.
BTW, where in blazes did you find such a cool pic?

The picture came from a British collector of deactivated guns who apparently also rents them out for movies and the like. So the stock could be a flimsy prop for all I know, but it sure looks legit to me.
Here's the site (http://www.project-x.org.uk/gunlibrary.html)

Looks like it might have extra mag storage in the stock too.

Wilhelm Bubits designed that stock pictured above, as well as the Steyr M and S series pistols. I believe the stock for the glocks will fit in the Steyr as well. The Bubits site is down for me currently but when it worked in the past it showed shooters using a stocked M40/M9.
It is legal for anyone to own and they import them for glocks. It would be illegal to attatch to a pistol with less than a 16" bbl unless it was registered as an SBR or is a registered machine pistol. As noone currently makes 16" barrels for the M40/M9, there is no way to legally mount one on a Steyr outside of the NFA route.

I believe the correct statement may be that the stock for the Steyr fits the Glocks as well. Looking through the photo gallery on the Glock Tactical Stock, LLC website (http://www.glocksbr.com/gts) you provided, I saw one photo of the "GTS" that faintly showed a familiar looking emblem. In this case, a picture is indeed worth a thousand words (or at least a few dozen, anyway):

$425+ is still pretty steep.

425? Holy moly...No way I would put a stock on my gun that costs more than the gun did.
