So I'm curious: can you get production uppers and mags for an AR15 clone that are chambered for 5.45x39? I did a little research of my own and found the .221 Genghis, which I understand is Alexander Arms version of the 5.45 - a paucity of available info on this one, however. Even google only turns up a handful of results.

So where can I find 5.45/.221 uppers?

There is a thread from ar15.com about the Alexander Arms upper in .21 Genghis. The long and the short of it is that they are rare, and good magazines are difficult to find. Here is the thread.

I believe the Genghis is maybe out of production, or was a limited production run or something to that effect. You could find the uppers for sale at various places online a couple years ago, but the supply seems to have dried up these days.
