If it says .22lr it will shoot

.22lr
.22short

but it will not shoot

.22mag - different cartridge all together

Hmmm...

So $80 gets you a single-shot .22LR, direct to your door.

Vaguely interesting, but not necessarily exciting.

Well, you can say that a .22LR single-shot is "a gun".

What mischief is thee up to now, freesty?

(Oh, oi freesty, have you looked into a Barami Hip-Grip for your S&W 36? Allows you to tuck a revo into a belt or waistband. I just got one for my other S&W J-frame, and it's most cool. Run a THR-search w/ "Barami" searching the titles.)

I think that if you check the link that you provided, you will find that weapon is a .32, and it is black powder!

That one at least, will not fire any cartridge, only percussion ignited black powder.

and if you check the second link you will see its a barrel sleeve to allow said derringer to fire .22lr cartridges.

These were pretty common a couple years ago, I think I can even remeber Sportsmans Guide selling them at one time.

How well do they work???? Dont know.

hey matthew, just thought it would be a cheap gun to get rid of all my 22short and 22lr at the range. yes i have seen the hipgrips but dont like the color, i have gotta the tgrip adapter like you said so it wont allow the hipgrip to be used. thanks

I stand corrected, I did not open the other link.

As to how these things work, I have no idea, but wonder at the legality of such a thing, as it was my understanding that other than black powder weapons, could not be direct shipped, may be this doesn't qualify as such.

Interesting(although as stated above, not intriguing).

Good luck, and sory for the omission on my part!

I suspect its very similiar to conversion cylinders.

You can buy a black power revolver and have it shiped direct.

You can buy a conversion cylinder to put in the same revolver that allows you to shoot modern metallic cartridges.....it can be shipped direct.

Put the two together and you have a "real" gun......that can be shipped direct.

Not sure how it legally works but Midway USA stocks alot of blackpowder revolvers and conversion cylinders.......Im sure if it was illegal they would have heard from the ATF by now.

At any rate, Im interested enough in the concept I may order one up and check it out.
