When I got my first Makarov one of those little 16 round boxes of ammo costs $14.

Holy hell! He threw in 10 boxes... I kind of thought it was good ammo when it was marked, "Made at the Tula cartridge works." But I didn't know it was that danged expensive:eek:

Not bad, I've gotten similar deals on Makarovs too for some reason.

I'd have jumped on it. Only Maks I've seen recently have all been $200 in pretty rough shape with no accessories.

Well I've been unable to determine if it's a total POS yet. The pistol range is shut down for deer rifle sight in:banghead:

A couple years later that ammo was imported in large amounts and sold for about $104/1,000. I bought and shot several thousand rounds.
I believe I might still have a couple hundred rounds.
It is mildly corrosive. Nothing to worry about but don't wait a week or so to clean the gun after shooting it.
BTW, I've posted this several places lately but you may be interested in what your Russian Mak will do at 100 yards in a average shooter's hands.:)

I seem to get in at least one crotch shot a target.:D
Now this one was from the first magazine. I'd like to say it was the first round but I don't know.:)
