I have 3 springs to make up the recoil spring assembly:
Outer spring: 30cm
Long inner: 17cm
Short inner: 12.5cm
My outer is fine and straight.
My short inner is fine and straight.
But my Long inner is crooked badly and about 4cm in there's a horrid bend. It looks like the long end of the inner recoil springs guide (the long end is also 4cm) bent the spring during recoil. Is this a toasted spring?
I have no idea where to get another in that case.
I just got this FN49. I fired 8 shots. All 8 did not cycle, no gas at all, I had to pull back and chamber manually each time. On the 7th shot the bolt handle would not extract. Used to my mosins, I promptly stomped on the handle with my boot and popped that case out. When it did it again on the 8th shot, I stopped shooting, cleared the gun with another stomp, and went home.
Now I've detailed everything, but I am not certain of the proper way to reassemble the recoil springs assembly.
Can someone help me?
