I believe that, just like in the 1970's, the Air Marshall program will start to see ever increasing turn-over due to extreme boredom and will go away on its own just like before.

Spoke with a local guy the other day who just got out of the Air Marshalls. He said it was probably the most boring year of his life. He had been a deputy Sheriff before, so it comparison it really sucked.

I bet!
Wouldn't mind flying around the country carrying a gun, but I'd be too inclined to do a lot of reading and wouldn't pay enough attention.

The reason for the extreme boredom is that the Air Marshalls aren't allowed to read, sleep or hold conversations with other passengers.

I've never been able to see for one moment how guys can do that job for long and stay alert. Every time I fly (approx 7 hour trip) I am bored outa my skull .... even the movies etc don't compensate for discomfort and tedium.

Doubt it'll ever last ... as Blades67 sez .... will go away on its own just like before probably!
