well the 1300 XTR did follow me home....
stripped and deep cleaned it and then to my dismay found that the safety was stuck in the off position....
I didn't want to attempt to take apart the trigger group assembly, and the seller said he'd pay the cost of returning it, or reimburse me for the cost of having a local gun smith work it.
Went down to the Rod & Gun on Sat. and got a recommendation to soak it in brake cleaner and blow it out with air before I go to the smith.
Dug an old (really old) can of brake cleaner out of my shed and was only able to get a little stream out.....but managed to get a good bit into the bottom of the trigger group.................
Sprayed it out with air and "click, click"...........problems solved..........:)
Blasted cans out back in the woods and everything seems to work just fine.....I think she's a keeper.
I'll try to post some pics............it's an older "extra" model and is really pretty (guess I've become a sucker for high gloss walnut and a deep blue finnish).
