Such thing as a short M1A/M-14 stock?

My G/F is dead-set on getting an M1A/M-14, but I know that the length of pull will be too long for her frame. Does anyone know of an aftermarket, drop-in or 98%-ish fit stock that is shorter than the standard?
Or am I going to have to break out the chisels?

There are some adjustable stocks at Fulton Armory. Prices range from only $625 to $800+. Wood stocks start at about $120 there. Get her the SAGE model and you will have the cutest, meanest tactigirl at the range. Tell her it is in place of an engagement ring if you two are leaning that way.
Used stock can be had at eBay. If you are going to chop one to fit her, get a cheap used one and refinish it.

There are several out there, they're made to go with body armor.
I like Tony over @ LAW483.

Edit: They are pricey, the cheapest solution is chopping a cheapo, like gaw said above.

VLTOR makes one for $500.
Looks really nice, and if it is as solid as their other products it should be all you need.
That is the one I would buy if I was going to build up an M1A.

Oh, by the way, one big reason she wants the M1A as apposed to a Mini-30 is that she likes the real wood stock. I'm guessing she won't be too pleased about a composite, but who knows? I will ask her about that when we get home tonight.
Also, I thought about chopping down a full sized stock, and got to thinking, "Hey, won't the buttplate be too big once I cut a couple of inches of wood off the butt?"
Anyway, thanks for the replies. I'll look into those leads.

If the overall length remains over 26", couldn't you just cut the stock down a bit? (And don't anyone dare accuse me of bubba-ing a gun. We are talking about a replaceable wood stock.)

My wife has the exact same problem. (she shoots like a 12.75 LOP on a shotgun, so the M14 stock is wayyyy too big for her)
We went to fredsm14stocks (http://www.fredsm14stocks.com) and talked with Fred and he shipped her a short one.
That actually worked close enough, but step 2 was to whack off the back end and put on a recoil pad (like a shotgun) and just lose the buttplate.
Fit would be better than having the buttplate.
Also, the composite stocks tend to be longer than the wood stocks in our looking, just FYI.
Also, most females have much higher cheekbones than men and like a much higher comb. We got a cheap wraparound thing to get the comb up about .75 of an inch and this too made a big difference. They do make fancier comb extenders and I've seen them on FAL's and M14's.
Get a cheap wood one from Fred's and whack it down til you get right, then get a nicer wood one and cut it to match and get a cheek extender. She'll be shooting better than you in no time. DAMHIK

"...bubba-ing a gun..." That only applies to full military configuration milsurps. An M1A isn't a milsurp. You're custom fitting a stock.
No chisels required. Use a mitre box or saw and cut off the amount required, allowing for a commercial butt plate or recoil pad. Then install and trim the plate/pad to size with a belt sander.

Duh. Never thought of the recoil pad. Heheh. If it's built in, she won't complain. (She said she wouldn't use the slip-on recoil pad I bought her for her Mosin M44 - she doesn't like the heavy recoil, but she insists that if Russian women could use them in the forties, she can use them today.)
Thanks everyone. I think I've got my answer.

You ever seen photos of Russian women from the forties?
She might want to seperate herself from that crowd.

Didn't they all look like Rachel Weiss?
I ran the recoil pad idea by her, and she was okay with the idea, so when she buys her gun, I'll get one of Fred's $15 stocks, and hack away until it fits her.
