I can't help with the extractor issue,

I need to know where to find parts also, numrich has some parts but they are out of most of them,

I need a cocking handle for mine and the winchester site doesn't have a parts listing for the SX1.

Thanks for the info SM. I have disassembled the breachbolt assembly, but I cannot see any pins that secure the extractor in place. I have removed the firing pin. The extractor is loose and it appears that the spring is missing. Any
thoughts on its removal? Thanks, Lorne

Never had one down that far. In fact I only recall one SX1 having to have a new extractor, and was not due to shooting- it needed replacing. Bolt out of gun, and by mistake dropped off a table and hit just right on a tile floor.

Nu-Line did all of our Repairs, if our local guy at the time said he felt better if Nu-Line did it instead of him. He was good, just honest about limits and all. NU-Line did all the install of screw in chokes, forcing cone and such too.

Quite a few of us have 100k, 200k even 300k through SX1s and never replaced an extractor. Good Steel used in that gun, Machined parts, not stamped.
Made right.

In fact we never replaced extractors, or much of anything on Beretta 303s, 1100s, 1300s, Citoris, anything, unless a fluke of an accident. Never saw an extractor replaced "often" until these MIM parts came out.

My '74 has ~300k rds I fired through it. I had Nu-Line do external knurled chokes, tweak the forcing cone, send me "O" rings and two extra bolt handles.

It was "said" one needed to replace the recoil spring after a certain round count (forget what the count is) so I did. Once. Local Gunsmith, competed with this SX1 as did a lot of us. So he gave me back the original. It was fine, I still have it, and compared to a new one, still fine. Now this when the gun only had I dunno 10-15K rounds through it? I shot that in the first year I had it.

I figured I'd shoot the durn thing, if the recoil spring acted up, fix it. If competing, borrow a gun. So mine has All these rounds, with nothing but having to replace "O" rings, the screw in chokes installed, studs for sling, having the rib pinned in two places ,and I shot with a Pachmayr Decelerator pad.

Right now, original pad back on the gun, sitting in safe off site, retired.

I didn't mess with it. I don't really mess with guns. I shoot them. Unwritten Rule- Never compete with a clean gun. Folks mess and fiddle the night before, walk out to clay field, pistol or rifle range, and the gun won't work, cycle or something.

Serious. Many a time I'd run 1k -2500 round a WEEK thru my SX1. Drop it off, let the gun guy clean and lube, pick it up and shoot it 50- 100 rds myself. Now the gun guy would run it , maybe a box, or more, still I run it so I'd know. I trusted him, him me, still "run your own gun". Then I'd shoot in competition with it "dirty".
We all did this, shotguns 1911s, BHPs , revolvers we did not so much, bolt gun we left dirty for not having to shoot fouling shots.

All we cared about was the Chamber, Extraction, didn't clean bores, Chamber was important, Paper hull shells less problems because they do not leave a plastic residue. Pipe clean the ports, see if "O" was fine, and done. Lube? I used a lot of Dexron Automatic Transmission Fluid, Browning Gun oil from a Tin, Winchester Gun Oil from a tin and Hoppe's Gun oil from a Tin (original from Penguin Industries).

Guns are funny, like anything else , they can and will break. Fellow had a new Krieghoff, Anniversary Gift from his wife. First box he owned it, and 3rd shot I fired, the sear broke. It happens.
He sent it back, no big deal, life happens. He used his SX1 for 12 ga, and his Citori 3 barrel set like I had to shoot a tourney.

We really did not mess with guns like folks do today. We did not have all this wonder stuff to clean and lube, and some of this bolt on stuff.

I used a SX1 for our "Two Gun" games - before Three Gun come out. . A SX1 will run 2000 rds of slugs, buckshot, and some birdshot, without cleaning , just folks using mine, or someone's else's SX1 to play.

SX1 never missed a beat, not in hot humidity, not with blowing sand, not with sleet, snow, rain, even muddy...

Beretta 303 is another often overlooked Gun that will run no matter what, with little attention.
