I have A 1911. Frame has crown city arms, Cortland NY. the slide is A colt combat commander. Its chambered 9MM. Does anyone have any info about Crown City Arms? Thanks

Crown City was a minor maker of 1911 parts and guns in the 1970s. Quality was mediocre at best. If yours shoots, great, but it is not worth a lot of money.

Jim: thanks for the reply. Like I stated only frame is crown city the rest is colt, paid 250.00,shoots good, operates fine. The only thing I don't care for are the sights, will probley change to other type.

I also have a Crown City Arms frame with a Colt slide in addition to my complete Crown City Arms Model Eagle 1911. The Eagle was recently obtained at the same shop that I purchased frankenpistol at. It had a match barrel & bushing fitted when I got it and I've just put in a Wolff Service Pack of springs to fresh'in it up before it's first trip to the range.
I've gotten mixed info about CCA, some saying they were a small parts provider to the military in the 60-70's and others saying they had ties to Essex in Vermont. The complete CCA looks well made but has the basic machine swirls which remind me of some of my third world AK's. I look forward to shooting the newest one and if it's got problems, we will give it a sort !
Nothing like low budget shooters ! Just this week I picked up a widebody Llama lX-C 1911 that I'll fresh'in up with a spring kit and air out also with the CCA Eagle.
Other than the above I depend daily on a Glock 22 & Kel-Tec 32 to get me home safe but my heart is with the 1911 platform !
