I have heard of busted scopes, but never had one myself. My uncle has a nikon monarch on a S&W 460 that was sighted in. He took it hunting and missed, came home, checked it and the scope was off. The scope will not adjust far enough to zero the scope. So, is it busted or not?

If the scope will hold zero I would call it good. If it will not it's broke. Has he checked the mounts? On a heavy recoil gun they might have shifted.

If the scope IS bad I would expect Nikon to take care of it.
