Gents,
I have a Marlin 1895G 45-70 and am considering scoping it since my over 50 eyes just aren't what they used to be. I've seen the AO mount for the Scout Scope and the Leupold One Piece Mount for traditional scopes, both of which are for Marlin lever guns. But somewhere I saw a set of scope rings that the bottom half of the ring was secured directly onto the receiver using the existing screw holes. The scope was then laid in the bottom rings and the top half of the rings were then screwed onto the bottom half, making a simple, secure, sturdy and relatively low mounting system. I was hoping someone else has seen this particular setup and can recall who makes them and who sells them.
Thanks,
Ron
