Hall of FAME ( What about your favorite )

We have a very informative thread on the "shame"full ones, how about the best.
Should probably be contained to guns you have owned and are sorry you got rid of and ones you currently own.
Why is it your favorite, and since it is the only one you can have what extra tricks would you have done to make it even better.

Don't know if I have a favortie per say, but it probably would be my Glock 22. I learned to shoot pistol on that gun, so it has alot of memories. It was also my first pistol.
No tricks on it, just the right size slide stop, mag release, and night sights.

All of mine belong in my hall of Fame. And since I have not gotten rid of any, and planning to never do so, I only pine for ones I have not purchased yet. (A CZ75 is looking mighty tempting for some reason, anyways, I need another 9mm.)
If I absolutely had to choose one to keep, I guess it would be my USP40. No tricks, just the nickel type finish it came with from CDNN. Or maybe my Taurus Tracker... or maybe... :D

Absolutely beyond approach; this weapon his performed
flawlessly since the day I purchased it!:) I has seen lots
of service as a LEO duty weapon; and as well, served as
an "off duty" weapon. And it still looks brand new!:uhoh:
So it gets my vote for "The Hall Of Fame"~
FootNote: Ladies and Gentlemen- after giving very careful
thought to the subject matter there are several worthy of
adding to this list! Besides the countless S&W, Colt, and
Ruger revolver's; I'd like to add my former Smith & Wesson
39-2 9m/m with serial A222XXX. She was a nickel beauty
queen, with light walnut checkered grip's. I can't relate
to it's reliability; as it was too darn pretty to shoot!
One other, a Series 70 Colt Gold Cup National Match!
Now, here was a shooter! And low and behold, I let
a friend take it off my hand's for a small profit. Well,
I guess its true, hindsight is 20/20!
Best Wishes,

I'd put my current Kimber Custom 1911 in this category along with a Smith & Wesson Model 19, blue, 4-inch barrel that I purchased back in '93 or '94 and *really* wish I'd held on to.

I have a number of guns that I am very fond of for various reasons. In picking one gun for the hall of fame I'd have to say it is my S&W 5906. The reason I chose it for this distinction is that contrary to popular perception regarding S&W autos, obviously not by everyone, they are inferior to Sigs, H&K's, Walthers and a few others. I purchased this particular gun in 1988 and it is nothing short of spectacular roght from the box. It was from a special run that had the flats highly polished, rounded trigger guard and very ugly fake wood delrin grips which I replaced with the standard black ones. It as the smoothest DA trigger of any of my pistols, has never malfunctioned and is extremely accurate. Everyone that I have let shoot this gun comes away with a very positive opinion, to say the least. I love my Sigs, Beretta, Browing, Colts etc. but I think this gun deserves special recognition. Mike

My new Kimber Pro Carry II just took the top spot from my trusty Beretta 92SB.
My S&W model 41 is right up there, too.

I was actually going to write an entry for Ala Dan, but was beaten to it. Except I would've listed a Hi-Point. :D
Anyway..my listing: Sig Sauer P225. Little brother to the P220: single stack compact 9mm. Perfectly reliable. It would probably cycle gravel poured into the magazine well.

Someday it will be a Wilson. Probably the Tactical Elite (ooooo, pretty :D). These days its a Springfield 1911 loaded with Wilson parts where it counts (ejector, extractor, guide rod, shock buffs, spings, holster). Gotta love a good .45!

My Vertec. All it needs is a LTT trigger job. I know there are some good guns out there and I've shot a few but I'd have to say my Vertec.;)

Guess I should add mine.
It is tough.
My NAA 380 Small and potent.
Kahr MK9 9mm power and small enough for most of the time.
S&W 39-2 Big but can drive nails to 50 yrds.
Wish the new R-9 was out as I am sure it would head the list.
Or a PM9.
But bottom line would have to be my MK9 with NS.
Tired and true, never missed a beat and small enough to take most places with a good holster, loaded with 115gr corbon will stop about anything.
Things to do to it.
Stipple or checker the front strap and a C&S work over.
It runs great but they do some longtime reliability magic on the innerds.

If I could only keep one... man... that's tough... I guess my Springfield Loaded Stainless Target. I have carried it and could again if I had to. Completely reliable, plenty accurate, and just generally does everything I want it to. To make it my own, I'd like the front strap checkered and have a melt job done on it. Then have Checkmate do their stainless blackening to it. If we;re really going all out (and we should if this is to be my ONLY handgun) I'd have the top of the slide flattened and serrated like Seans BCP Delta and the back of the slide and bottom of the trigger guard checkered at 40 lpi. And maybe have a beavertail fitted just a bit better. That'd just about do it. :p

WOW!
Glad to see so many SIG lover's on this forum.:) To
quote and unidentified source, "I've never seen a
SIG Classic P-series self-loader that I did not like"!:uhoh:
But, I still reserve a special place in my heart for those
original Smith & Wesson 39's and 39-2's.:D If memory
serves me correctly, the Illinois State Patrol was the
very first agency to carry this weapon for duty? At the
time, it was a good choice; and probably would be a
bit better today, due to the wide selection of bullet
design's.
But, after I graduated to the .45 caliber SIG-Sauer
P220; I don't think I will ever change my daily carry
piece.

SIG P220 is my vote. I do have other Hall of Famers but the SIG stands out in terms of reliabilty and accuracy.

My favorite shooter is my CZ 75B 9mm. It eats anything I feed it and has never had a malfunction in 5000 + rounds.
The one that got away was a Colt Python with a 4 inch barrel. :)

Plain Jane CZ75B-never a problem, always a great shooter.

While I think the P7M8 is a better combat pistol, my vote is going to the HK P9S.
This gun is so satisfying to handle, shoot and disassemble. It is one of the most accurate pistols I've ever shot, has never hiccuped, and the action actually reduces recoil, just by the way it works. Mine is 9mm, but the .45 models have ridiculously little recoil.
When you disassemble the gun, you're treated to internal components that look like something NASA built, rather than a gun company. Yet the mechanism is all simple and straightforward. The polygonal bore is so smooth, it appears to be a twisted tube.
Overall design, from the rugged firing pin to the excellent trigger, ergonomics and first rate combat sights just puts the shooter at his best. This is the easiest centerfire pistol to teach someone to shoot.
There are no liabilities, either. It feeds everything, and can not possibly bite the shooter. It works with any suppresor design. It is not affected by lead bullets. All stressed components are steel.

Right now, my current "best" is a Kimber Eclipse II Target .45. I have more confidence in my ability to hit with this gun than any other that I currently own.
My all time fave was lost to burglars about 2 years ago; a Freedom Arms .357 with a nine inch barrel. It would shoot amazingly small groups off of sandbags with a variety of loads, and was the most accurate normal handgun (i.e., not an XP 100 or a TC single shot) that I have ever owned.

My current favorite is my Performance Center 952-1 9mm.

It fits my hand. The trigger is light and crisp. It's accurate and highly reliable. No failures.

That's like asking which of your children you love most. I have Kimbers,Colts,S&W's, Rugers, CZ's, a T/C Contender and a Beretta. They all serve different functions. If I had to pick just one, it would probably be my Contender with a lot of different barrels.

hi power. Got all the H's covered for me.
History - because JMB and 1935 don't start with H
heft - I like the feel of an all metal gun
hicaps (affordably so) - Anything to make the anti's mad
handsome - Could it be any better looking?
honey's present to me - The one that really matters! This was a gift from my wife, and the one that started me into a more "serious" world of gun ownership. Before I had "country" guns...single, SXS, pump and semi shotguns, .22 semi rifle, etc and hunted, plinked and busted clay pigeons. Now my interests have grown into IDPA and 3 gun competitions .... and I've gotten a lot more engaged too. Gone from occasional shooting to couple times a week.
AND I'M LOVIN IT

To me this is like asking a mechanic what is your favorite tool in your toolbox.
So I'm going to do mine by handgun type barrel lentgh and caliber.
Also I made my choices by a equal balance of accuracy and reliability:
Revolvers:
.44Mag- Ruger-Redhawk 7-1/2"bbl*
.357Mag- Ruger GP-100 6"bbl*
S&W 66 2-1/2"bbl
Pistols:
.45ACP- Colt Series '70 Gov't Model w/Wilson bbl & bushing, S&W adj, sights, speed safety and trigger job.
10mm- S&W 1006*
.40S&W- Glock 23
.9mm- Glock 17L
*These I no longer own but they were the best I owned in that type and caliber.

FEG PJK9HP Hi-Power clone, 1st edition. I put Hogue monogrips on it, removed the magazine disconnector and put an extended safety on it. Still my most accurate defensive pistol, and my competition weapon. Best bang for the buck I have ever spent on a handgun.
Colt Lightweight Commander. With ball ammo this old warhorse keeps on ticking, though it can be finicky about feeding hyrda shocks. Mine was made in the early 50's and took a trip to Korea courtesy Uncle Sam with the original owner. It's one I'll never sell. It's totally stock.
FEG Pa-63 .380. Beleive it or not this $100 pistol has never jammed on me, and part of the reason I was willing to try out the HP clone

My Springfield, XD ,Subcompact, 9mm.
Say what you will, it's cheap, very accurate (2" groups at 10 yrds) and I have had no failures of any kind in over 1000 rounds.
I prefer shooting it to several of my more expensive "Pretty" guns including my Colt Gov. 45.
It is however ugly as sin--Rob

My favorite gun I own is a Glock 19 and the one I regret trading away the most was a Kahr K9.
