Colt is in business.....sort of........for the easiest buck, but they really don't care about a consumer market. They are only interested in being a defacto govt arsenal.

Well then I think I am going to get a Colt 1911 series 70 from impact guns , I have always wanted a 1911 from the original manufacturer.

Colt is still in business. They still produce Series 70 1911s.
Even if they were out of business, there is ample 1911 parts support to take care of any Series 70 1911 for the rest of our natural lives.
If your dealer is saying Colt is out of business, then tell him you will do him a favor and take those old pistols off his hands for half price.

Colt is in business. :) Look them up on a google search, get their number and give them a call in the morning. The SAA's and the 1911's all come out of the Colt Custom Shop now and are very good firearms.

While Colt is not producing a ton of pistols right now, the general concensus seems to be that the quality of their 1911's has improved and been quite solid over the last few years after some rough times in the 90's.
Buy it. Colt's are fine weapons and hold their value better than any other production 1911.

earlier this year, a colt rep on m1911.org posted the production schedule for models they weren't producing for the first half of the year:

the reps PM and email address are available at m1911.org's site.

Colt is still in business, and they are making dang fine pistols. I got one of the Series 70 reproducitons last year (although it is not really a Series 70 as those had the collet front bushing--that is what made them the Series 70) and it is fantastic looking pistol and a great shooter.
What Colt does is produce runs of guns, then change the tooling and make a run of other guns.
As obm posted, that was for the first half of this year. I don't know if Mark has posted another run schedule, but you can check at the addy he gave you.
I feel your pain, I was in the hunt for the WWI reproduction (there made 3000 or a 4000 run). I waited all this year, but my guy's dealers did not get any in. I finally (last week) picked up a NIB one for the same price as my guy was going to get me one.
