Got to go to a wedding. I am a Texan with a CHL, and we have reciprocity with Tennessee. (Fair enough, since Texas thanks a lot of Tennesseans for their fight for the Republic.)

I looked at packing.org and it appears that open carry is permissible, with a permit.

I'll be driving from the Texas Gulf Coast, so airports don't concern me. Any input from Tennesseans would be appreciated.

Open carry is technically legal for permit holders, but it's largely "discouraged" by most local PDs and SDs. Open display of a handgun will in all likelihood attract attention from the Constabulary, permit or no permit.

I do wish TN was more open carry tolerant like TX or AZ, but at least we have shall-issue with much reciprocity. You should be just fine if you keep it concealed.

Darrin, your signatures are the best!

I'll arrive sometime this Friday afternoon. The wedding is on Saturday. I'll leave sometime Sunday, and get back home late Monday evening.

I hate having to travel by highway on Memorial Day weekend, but that's how it goes.

Ain't flying!

capnrik, wish you could hang out longer. My brother is coming up from Florida and I'm taking him to the range on Sunday.

I know 2 couples getting married this Saturday, are you going to one of them? :uhoh: Nevermind.

Enjoy your brief stay!!

I'm probably heading to the outdoor range on Friday. I got a day off from work if anybody wants to join me.
