I've put 45 Grains of Pryodex in mine.
It's mostly a waste of powder but it looks cool.

30 gr. of Pyrodex is my normal load in my Colt 1860 and Remington NMA.

That is without a wad- I have a couple hundred combustible paper cartridges made up for my revolvers.

I use 30 grains of fff in any 44 call bp revolver. No wad. seat the ball all the way down and seal with grease.
