My update for all those concerned.

Some of you have noticed that I am still here, thanks for all the concern.
I started talking about my situation more and more with people, and all of a sudden things just "clicked" for me. It is kind of like something new opens in your life, and you are unsure or confused about it. Things are unsettled in your mind. You sleep on it for a while, things settle down, and all of a sudden you have your answer. That is what happened to me, but it took a year and a half. I think I am going to be ok now. I can seperate my emotions from my logical side. It is like an awakening where someone flipped a switch. I remember the exact moment too.
I was talking with a girl I am dating, telling her my story. She told me I did the right thing, and for the first time I beleived it. I really felt that I had done the right thing, and I was able to think about it and talk about it without crying.
I have no idea why it took so long, or why it was so hard, but everything makes sense to me now. I feel like I used to, and I can do everything again. I can do anything. I finally feel alive and can smile and enjoy the simple things in life.
Thanks again to all who helped me and showed their concern.

I'm very glad you have sorted everything out. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

The problem is that I do not know exactly what triggered the "clarity," but I know the moment. It is now the easiest it has ever been though.

I wouldn't call it a problem, really. Somethings are worked out on the lower levels of the mind, the "sewers" of the brain that no one ever notices. Others are worked out by conscious effort.

The problem is that it has worked itself out in the sewers before. I am wondering if there is somethat that helped the sewers out before. I have tried to pinpoint it, but have not done so thus far.

Good to hear Squirrel. Although, I have to admit that I was looking forward to the "Grizzly SquirrelNuts" tales you were bound to return with. :D

Squirel,
as someone that sympathized with you greatly, I am very glad to hear you are feeling rejuvinated. Now go out and take on the world ... its actually an easy battle when you use a smile as your main weapon.
Missed you at the Eastmans Show in Gwinett last weekend. I hope to make your acquaintance sometime soon.

It always amazes me how difficult it is to express problems in your life. It is embarrassing and confusing to talk about. Then once you do open up, you find that just about everyone you talk to went through something similar and they are supportive and understanding. The problem gets solved, you feel better, and then your friends can now (safely) make fun of you. So whatever happened SquirrelNuts, glad things are better. Now give us details so we can tease you.

That's just great Squirrel, I am glad you have "come to grips" with your dilemma. It takes time to fully rcover from such an incident and you will always have "triggers" that will recall painful memories, but, in time they will become easier to accept and deal with mentally as well as emotionally. A sound, A touch, A smell, maybe a visual reminder, but you will have learned to grow from such adversity. God Bless Ya 'Nuts

I will have many adventures this summer, and I would love to share them with everyone.Missed you at the Eastmans Show in Gwinett last weekend. I hope to make your acquaintance sometime soon. Axe,
I looked for you at the show. I arrived there around 11 AM and it was PACKED! I only saw two guys that I remember with green backpacks. One had an AR-15 stuck out of it (in box) and the other had a "Class III wanted" sign on his. I did not see you with your XD for sale.

Good for you Sir!
I know what you mean about how much the future can twist your head myself. Mrs Delmar died two months ago last Tuesday, and although she had medical issues the past couple of years, it was very unexpected. In fact, I had talked to her on the phone not 30 minutes before she passed away.
I really didn't know what to do-hippie step son, 35 years old and ought to know better, was doing his best to make me nervous, but I got it worked out and he is no longer an issue. You really find your true friends when it comes time to stand and deliver.

Glad you pulled out of things, man...
I wanted to reply at the time, but couldn't think of anything constructive to say.
Did you ever get your 75K or whatever?

Perhaps mentally preparing for your trip was therapeutic in and of its self.
Still, it would be great if you could go on a shorter version of what you were planing. You would always have the memory of your experience as a therapeutic marker, in your life, and you would be the envy of most of the folks on this board.

Having refreshed memory on the ''problem'' .... I can only say how delighted i am for you .... the reason for the ''clarity'' is in fact academic ... what matters is - it came to you.
Many of us have I am sure had ''dark'' moments in our lives ..... and you sure had yours ...... may things continue improved for you.:)

I am still considering doing a smaller version of this trip here in a little bit, and I have a good idea of where to go ;)
