I was watching Vs. yesterday and during the show about a guy hunting grizzly and black bear with a black powder rifle I saw an ad about a rifle that can be easily converted to a shotgun or centerfire with just a change of the barrel. I cannot remember what it was called and had a hard time searching for it... anyone got any info?

its one of the Thompson center rifles. dont remember which. but it goes from shotgun, to 303 to muzzle loader by switching out the barrel and forestock.
(i think its 303.. it could be something else)

You mean the Encore? I hear it's pretty good, though I've yet to shoot one.
It can be a shotgun, muzzleloader, muzzleloading shotgun or centerfire rifle. ANY centerfire rifle caliber based on a .308/.30-06/.375 H&H Magnum/.222 can be fit onto this action. They make a .416 Rigby barrel for it as well. Plus some other crazy options.
It's a bit pricey for a single-shot, but the versatility is mind-boggling. I can't decide what to put on it first!

If thats not your thing, I remember hearing about a company making an inline, single shot pistol that could use any.410 shotgun round if the breech plug was removed. oddly enough i could never find someone who actually had the pistol.
