Could you legally go to Chicago with an 1896 Mauser pistol or into Wash D.C. with an 1897 Browning shotgun?

I like it. I got more impact out of your text than the text in the poster though. Could you incorporate them into the poster without making it too busy or wordy?
Or possibly:
Top:
Gun control advocates claim to be only after modern guns

Bottom:
Many Grandparents consider these companions,
But your "representatives" consider them contraband

Using a different rhythm . . .

Gun Grabbers Say: Just Ban The New,
Don't Kid Yourself, They Want These Too.

(Must ... resist ... no ... whew!)
(Damn! Nearly said "Burma Shave")

. . . Let me chew on this a bit, I may come up with a variation.

In retrospect, this poster is half-baked. SO all suggestions to improve its floware welcome. I have another idea of my own also.

Too bad the gun control people don't realize that anti-gun laws only stop people that obey the law from having guns. The bad guys will get them anyway which leaves the good guys defenseless.

For a variation on the theme:

I think something using the older guns in pure sepia tone with an "old time" font visually juxtaposed against a slick modern EBR with a "tactical" font could be effective.

Oleg, I've got a poster idea on similar lines but it wouldn't convince anyone except gunnies.

The idea is that gun-banners ban modern guns because they're 'too modern' and too different' from 'old-time' guns. But they say that at every gun ban, throughout time. For instance what weapons the Natives were allowed to possess.

If you really felt inflammatory you could hint at Custer's defeat to superior rifles of the natives, and then illustrate the loss of the Black Hills as evidence that threats existed when the government promised peace.

Sort of: "They'll tell you that you have no need for a modern firearm." (show AR-15/old repeating rifle), "But what's meant is that they need you to not have one." (show Sitting Bull being led from the Cyprus Hills, or some other saddening picture)

Oleg,
Suggestion if I may

Shotgun shells being paper hulls instead of newer plastic to go along with older revolver and revolver cartridges theme.

Ideas:

-Half of poster being color, the other half black and white - perhaps "torn" diagonal, to get both firearms and ammo.

I have paper shells and access to older guns. Will re-shoot.

Hmmmmm. Something in that idea, or should I say both of them. Old revolver and shotgun arranged with ammo to match, black and white, and toss in a little "grainy"ness to boot. Give the impression of an old tin-type photo. Keep the diagonal tear. AR/AK type rifle with a matching modern pistol, loose ammo and mags to demonstrate capacity, and in brilliant color. The focal distance would need to be pulled out to get more of the rifles in the picture so the hi-rez quality would drop off a bit.

Same text, modern rifle across the top framed on the left with pistol, mags and ammo; old rifle/shotgun across the bottom framed with the revolver to the right and loose cartridges. Diagonal tear matching guns to text. It might take a few photo shoots to get the arms arranged to make the triangles work.

Go whole hog and use a flannel shirt for the backdrop on Grandpas's guns and a camo shirt for the modern, or would that be to "much"?

Mr. Oleg Volk, I like it. Could I have your permission to save and maybe post this in another forum.

I like both the concept and the poster, but could you say:

"Gun Control advocates say they only want to ban modern guns...

Sure..."

And let the image convey the truth by showing the older models.

May I try?

I would suggest that you can take advantage of the fact that the M1 Carbine was mentioned in the last "AWB II" list, and that the anti's definition of "semi-automatic assault rifle" does, in fact, apply to the M1 Garand.

And for another poster, I'd suggest three S&W revolvers atop each other in line. A 19th century top-break, a 1930's "detective special" .38 special, and a current .38 special of the near-same design, and point out that since not really that much has changed and that they all can be used for the same tasks...yes, they would wish to ban them all?

armoredman,
I like your poster very much!

Old Fuff,
As usual, you convey my thoughts in better words. :)

I am trying very hard to convey the message with the fewest words on the poster. My thoughts run to the visual - reaching out, and hitting home the obvious that it is not about the year, platform, or firearm - simply the fact that it is about Control - period.

Meaning one views the the poster, and not even knowing the language - the message would be conveyed.
