Do gun finishes hurt custom work?

I've had my compacts worked on by Ernest Langdon for a level II trigger job. Does anyone know if a Robar N3P custom finish on the slide and internals would hurt the custom work? I've heard it may help the performance of the gun but I'm more interested in looks and ease of cleaning. Appreciate any replies.

Depends on the finish. Depends on who does it. Depends on what you have finished. The best bet is to have the person who did the custom work handle the finishing for you, too. That way they can give specific instructions to the finisher, or simply not send them parts that shouldn't be coated.

That said, I've never heard of Robar ever messing anything up by putting NP3 on it.
