Taurus makes a revolver, .38 Special, 4" barrel, blue steel, MSRP $390, called the model 82. I have heard good things about Tauruses in general but bad things about this revolver in particular. Seeing as I dont have a job, a inexpensive revolver is a viable choice for me, if I can find somewhere to shoot it (ps, I'm thirteen :D :D :D )
I know the cost would be lower then MSRP.
Would recomend this or a used S&W (saw a nickel plated M15 for $270, but I dont know if its still there)

WARNING: Not the quality of todays Tauri products~! :uhoh:

Look around, and you can probably find a good used but not abused S&W
model 10 for less than what the Taurus cost.

Around here, the security companies, like Wackenhut, issue them to their people as carry weapons. They don't get good treatment and they seem to work ok. The ones I've seen used in the gun shops look good. Lot's of security guards buy them as inexpensive carry weapons and then unload them after they move on. Look around. I'm unaware of any defect issues with this particular model, and you should be able to get a used one pretty cheap.

Yep, Wackenhut issues them to CPO's; complete with 'bout a 25 lb double-
-action trigger pull; and six 158 grain RN lead bullets. One reason I am
not in the security business.
