I had pachymer grips on my 1911, and along with some Wilson combat additives, it always felt and looked good, but it lacked some of the prestige looks. Then I ran across a true artisan that does grips Haken Pak lives in Normay, and is one of those craftsman that can turn your favorite Auto into a thing of beauty.. I elected to go with Pure Turkish Walnut, but he does lots of customization... Once installed, I now have a thing of beauty as well as function. The grip of the gun feels better to me since I don't have long fingers.
Here's the web site. http://www.imageseek.com/hakan/

Nice! Now, go and shoot it until the blueing is wearing off and the thing looks older than V-Day. Then it will be a thing of true beauty.

As much as I liked the feel of the rubber grips, I don't know if it is just mental or truly better. But it truly feels more solid.. Proof will be known on the range. And I plan to thoroughly test it as soon as I get back from the current business trip.'

I have Hakans on a CZ75BD and CZP-01. He is a real gentleman and great to work with.

He is such a prefectionist. It was driving me crazy with flying e-mails. But once I sent him detailed pictures of my 1911 he was quick and efficient. They dropped in place perfectly with no adjustments needed. I can highly recommend him to others no matter what type of hand gun.

It has Wilson Combat sights, and I think the mag guide is the same. It was on the 1911 when I purchased it.

How much does he charge for a decent set of grips?
