So what do you think of it? How does it shoot? After the post a couple of days ago I am thinking of getting one myself.

My brother's RAP440 came with a couple of holsters. One was a duty holster, the other was a Bianchi that sounds like it would fit the bill.

Find a gun thats very similar. What Darrin had to do for his Astra A90. A Sig, forget which model is very similar in size and shape. A molded leather holster fit it very well, almost within centemeters of being perfect. What happens when you dont buy a TaticalPoser favorite gun....not many options... :(

tactical poser gun....ha

While I respect everyones desicions on their carry weapons....i prefer to check out the less expensive, obscure stuff....dont want to be like everyone else at the range.

Thanks for the holster suggestions.

You could always make one. I posted instructions in the General Handgun forum you could look for.

Otherwise, Kahr used to offer a free DeSantis nylon thumbbreak with purchase. It was a nice holster, and would fit the RAP easily, I would think.

I also did a search for 'A75 Astra holster' and got hits for Safariland.

oh im with ya volvo....i am picking up a mak here soon for my primary carry I do believe. my sw99 is just too pretty/nice/expensive to get worn every day. just when you have a gun that every tactialposer doesnt want to buy its hard to find stuff for it. having played with Darrin's Astra 90 I do like it alot. The handle is a bit beefy but it does feel good in the hand, and it has only had 3 maybe 4 failures in probaly 1500+ rounds now. All FTE's probaly 100% ammo related. Cant complain about that at all.

PCR....that is the nicest offer I have ever gotten!! Do you have and astra or RAP that you could mold it after?

I may or may not take you up on that offer...I have been reading a bit about leatherwork and holster making, and may attempt one myself....My dad has an oldschool pedal sewing machine that will sew 3/4 inches of leather without a hitch...in fact he just bought it a couple months ago just for that purpose....that thing is wicked, I sure hope he never gets a finger under that needle...I dont doubt it would peirce the bone!!!

Most likely, I am going to wait until I recieve the pistol, then go in search of a holster that may work with it...I still have a hard time grasping the dimensions of this pistol, so I am not sure if some of the single stack SIG holsters may work....Maybe even a Kahr holster....

If I do it that way, I may boil the holster in water, and then re-bone it to fit the RAP.

I dont know, but I am kinda excited about starting the holster hunt...and if all else fails, I am equally excited about trying my hand at making one.

Thanks again!

Did this ever get anywhere? Methinks the Astra and RAP are both quite nice.

My RAP is a nice pistol but heavy. Should have bought more mags when they were cheap. The trigger hinge pin is a bit loose but I don't think it would come out or anything.

I think I would like to get an original astra to compare notes. I just got an Uncle Mikes nylon holster. Sorta cheesy but it works.

I found some Astra A75 mags for cheap, and they're supposedly cross-compatible. Send me a PM if you're interested.
