This homeowner in a Minneapolis suburb defended his home with a firearm. This happened on Monday. It's a sad comment on crime in the Minneapolis/St.Paul metro area.

Amazing story, single shot from a .22, and the bad guy is D.R.T. Big thumbs up for the home owner.

I also like the quote from Capt. Robert Aldrich of the Anoka County Sheriff's Department:

"You are in your own house, you have a right to defend yourself and protect yourself."

We could use more like him.

Whaley said he grabbed the loaded .22-caliber single-shot rifle that he keeps near his bed. When a man carrying a flashlight suddenly came into his room, Whaley fired a single shot.

Settled that in short order.

One-shot COM stop with a .22. Nice shot placement, there!

Granted, he didn't go down immediately, he fled and collapsed a bit away, but it still ended the threat, and that's what a firearm is for.
