As most of you know, the phrase Molon Labe dates back to the battle of Thermopolaye. There's a new film about the battle due out soon, based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller.

Too bad the trailer is so "artsy". It doesn't make me want to see this film even though I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Gates of Fire".

Gates of Fire is a GREAT book.Yes. Unfortunatly the movie isn't based on that one, but on the "graphic novel" (comic book, to us old timers) from 1998, Dark Horse Comics limited series "300" written and drawn by Frank Miller and painted by Lynn Varley. The movie is heavy on CGI to duplicate the Miller/Varley images.
