Will EAA 9mm compact magazines function in a CZ compact? I ask because the price difference between the two is highly signifigant (CZ compact magazines are 3x the price of the EAA ones).

Also, will standard EAA 9mm magazines work in a CZ compact? I ask for a similiar reason.

Thanks

Both companies use MecGar to make the magazines. I have seen CZ-compact magazines from MecGar for 19.00 before. Where are you finding that big of a price difference at?

The easy answer is maybe. There are two major variations of CZ, the B models and the pre-b, the pre-b is just the slightest bit narrower, and usually pre-b mags work in b's, and sometimes b's work in pre-b's.

There are also several variations of witness, and tanfoglio (the original manufacturer), also has two major frame types, pre series 88 and everything after that. On top of that, the polymer witness seem to have some dimensional differences.

Then there are Mecgars, and other magazine manufacturers that seem to have some differences between runs where mags work in some but not other pistols. Sometimes they work, but will not lock back the slide on the last round, and some will work if you modify the notch. Really all pistols have these issues, but for some reason the CZ types seem to be a little more problematic than others.

In general, the full size mags made for a pistol will work in the compact model, they just stick out some.

The easiest way is to buy one, try it, modify if you need to, and if you like it, buy some more.

It's now a non-issue...

CZ compact magazines are now stocked at CDNN. At least they were when I ordered mine:D
