I have several tucakable holsters for several handguns. Every one conceals better and is more comfortable to carry behind the point of the hip. However, ripping out the shirt is at best very slow and sometimes error prone (ie. it does not all rip out) in this position. The shirt rip is much faster to accomplish if the gun is worn in front of the hip.

My question is doeas anyone here wear a tuckable? If so where do you wear it? Do you have any tips / advice as to the problem described above?

Slightly off topic, but for those of you that carry behind the hip, which handed holster do you use? That is to say, when you reach for your sidearm, is your palm faced in to your body, or out?

When I carry behind the hip, it is with a strongside grip. In other words, no palm-out crap. Some of the more convincing arguments I've heard on gun boards (we all know there's lots of bullpoop!) were against cavalry style carry.

I usually carry IWB crossdraw, but sometimes OWB behind hip. My VersaMaxII got delivered today, so I'm sure I'll be gradually incorporating more IWB behind hip. :)

Practice the Hackathorn Rip. The strongside hand come back and locates the holster, thumb on the front, index finger riding up the back welt. The weak hand comes across the body and literally rips the cover garment up -- waaaay up. The strong hand slides up the holster, grips the gun and brings it up and forward -- a 3/4 circle movement from start to full presentation. As the gun is pushed forward, the weak hand completes the two-handed grip.
