Thanks to whom ever it was that suggested I put a Volquartsen target hammer in my 597. The previous gawd awful stiff trigger is now quite acceptable. It's no bench rest trigger, but it is much lighter than previous. I am quite impressed. It's now the best trigger I have on a rimfire. My 10/22 is stock. I probably should spend some money on the trigger with that one, but the 597 needed the help a lot worse. :D
