I've seen some guys using the Dewey chamber guide when cleaning rifles with full length one piece cleaning rod. I've always used a one piece rod.

Is it worth it? What are the advantages?

Keeps the rod from rapping and dinging the rifling origin when it flexes pushing a tight patch or brush. I don't clean without one any more.

I won't use anything besides the Dewey rods on mine, except in the field, and only to push patches through the bore...carefully. IMO, they are well worth the asking price.

Depends on how you value your rifle? I use them and wipe clean each time it comes out of the bore.
