View Full Version : Is my scope broken?

I have a fixed 5x scope I got in a trade, and it's acting a bit weird. When I look through it, everything seems just fine. About 2 in 3 other people who try it out say it's out of focus, though (and there's no focus adjustment on it). Several people have said it's out of focus, but clears up when they use reading glasses when looking through it.
I had planned to sell of trade this thing, but I don't want to if there's something wrong with it. Does anyone have an idea what's going on?

Different people have different eyes. Most scopes have an ocular focus adjustment.

Usually the ocular bell (the end closest to the shooter"s eye) can be turned in order to focus the scope. If it looks fine to you, and looks fine to others AFTER they put their glasses on, I'd say the problem is their eyes, not the scope. ;)

Ian, on that specific scope, the rubber ring around the ocular lens (closest to the shooter's eye) will turn. That's your reticle focus on that model.

Well, how about that! They hid the focus adjustment right in front of my eyes.
Thanks, asknight!
